Course Description:
This four-hour training offers an in-depth look at preparing and laying a strong foundation for EMDR Therapy when working with children, adolescents, and their caregivers. Throughout this training, clinicians will develop an application of EMDR when working with children and develop an understanding of ways to build safety and rapport through art and play therapy modalities. Clinicians will also apply knowledge of EMDR when working with parents/caregivers in order to build a complete foundation for trauma work with children.

Who is this for?
This workshop is intended for licensed mental health therapists who have completed an EMDRIA approved basic training. Skill level: Beginner/Intermediate.

- Identify the 5 pillars of developing a strong foundation for EMDR Therapy with children and adolescents.
- Recognize the importance of working closely with caregivers and providing education on the impact of trauma in children and adolescents.
- Demonstrate various ways to build a strong foundation using creative interventions developed through an attachment approach.

Nina Davey
LCPC, ATR-BC, PMH-C, ACS, EMDRIA Approved Consultant
Nina Davey is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), a Registered, Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), and holds a certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). Nina has over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.
Nina is a Certified EMDR Therapist and an Approved EMDR Consultant. She uses a variety of treatment modalities through a trauma-informed perspective, including Art Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), EMDR, and Sand Tray Therapy.
Nina has extensive training in trauma (PTSD) and childhood abuse and has a particular interest working with women’s issues around Perinatal and Postpartum support. Nina is an Approved Credentialed Supervisor (ACS) for LGPC clinicians as well as an Approved Supervisor for Art Therapists.
